Project reflects on the trend of reconstructing the facades of the edifices around Baku that often result in completely new buildings redecorated with sandstone and neoclassical-resembling ornaments from stucco. Artist digitally modelled three generic scenarios and printed these on movement sensitive lenticular panels to reference these rapid transformations around the city. The first print from the series “Mirage” echoes new and sturdy facades being built to already existing edifices that often end up in tragicomical situations. The average looking trees suddenly turn into palm trees that remind of the extravagant plantation cultivated around the new boulevard in Baku. The third print brings to attention the preference for vibrantly illuminated facades that get the city glimmering at nights resulting light pollution.
